In a well run project (both large and small), there is a constant array of issues with which to deal, as well as a challenging regimen of project management tasks and processes. The Project Manager is responsible for everything required to make a project successful. It is unlike a typical hierarchical line management role as the Project Manager is at the center of everything related to the project. Controlling the contributions of seniors and peers is just as important as managing the work of the team.
The Project Manager is directly responsible for the activities of all project participants, project tasks, and project deliverables. They serve as the main point of contact for both project team members and project sponsors (company leaders), as well as dependent departments and other initiatives within the client company.
